Summer Camp - June 16-23

Posted on Apr 30 2012 - 11:00pm
Ottari Merit Badge Signups: If you're one of the 25 Scouts who will be working on Merit Badges at Camp Ottari, please try to bring your Merit Badge form to this Thursday's meeting. If you can't be at the meeting you can email it to me. To complete this, you'll need the form (of course) and the camp's schedule for the week. Both are attached. We'll collect the forms, and in the near future we'll do online enrollment for everyone, doing our best to get everyone's preferred merit badge choices. If you have questions about which merit badges to consider, how many to take, etc, please ask. We have many experienced adults and Scouts who can offer guidance.

Flag Maintenance Days - 4/28  9am-noon  & 5/12  9am-noon

Mark your calendars. We will meet at the Beckett Ridge Country Club at 9am. Most teams will need less than an hour to fully inspect your routes. Class B red uniforms will be required for the scouts.  Parents may wear them, if they have them. Please bring a can of dark green spray paint and a notebook.  I will pass out route sheets on Saturday.  If any of you would like the master excel file to reconfigure your route, let me know and I will send it under separate cover.

OTIS -- Postponed

Posted on Apr 14 2012 - 12:43am

OTIS - postponed until late summer/fall

This is for First Class Scouts and above. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to take part in the OTIS (Outdoor Training Instructor/Survivor) class of Troop 940. Upon successful completion of this course you will join the Scouts that will teach the younger and new scouts the skills of scouting which will help them advance through the scouting ranks. The OTIS program will require your full participation at various training sessions and meetings over the next several weeks to perfect & hone your outdoors & scouting skills. It will be to your advantage to pay close attention to your instructors during these class sessions as the skills that you will learn in these sessions will be put to the test in an OTIS field trial/survivor weekend campout.
